6/2/2016 0 Comments A common question at readings A common question at my readings is "How long does it take to write a poem?" Sometimes it can take years before I will let a poem go, a line I am waiting for arriving on its own time. For example, my poem "A Family Chair," had many changes. I believe this is a common experience for poets. In the process, the poet discovers. As Robert Frost wrote, "No surprise in the poet, no surprise in the reader."
